SME employers who do not pay the levy also benefit by having up to 95% of the cost of apprenticeships paid for by the government. They can either spend this funding on new apprentices, up-skilling their existing staff or a combination of both.
Additional incentives are in place for both levy and non-levy paying employers to take on apprentices aged 16-24 and 25+ years of age.
